January 6, 2021, was a turning point. As Eric Miller, a lifelong Republican, watched the attack on the U.S. Capitol unfold, disbelief turned to anger. In that moment, he knew silence was not an option. He immersed himself in studying the rule of law, civics, and the rise of political deception. He wrote articles, connected with others who were equally appalled, and found inspiration in leaders like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, who stood against the tide of lies.

Writing Allied We Can Find Common Ground was just the beginning. The book became a bestseller, but it wasn’t enough. The danger to democracy was still growing. On March 9, 2025, the first group of 47 like-minded individuals came together—not just to talk, but to act. That moment marked the birth of Allied We Can, a movement determined to protect democracy, counter disinformation, and restore political integrity. Eric Miller, now a registered Democrat who holds Lincoln Republican ideals for liberal democracy, leads this coalition with a steadfast commitment to truth, justice, and accountability.

Something is happening in our country—something dangerous. The very foundation of our democracy is being tested by the spread of disinformation and misinformation, the erosion of trust, and the deliberate attempts to divide us.
