Hooked on Power

They Thought It Was Confidence. It Was a Trap.

Hooked on Power

You’ve probably seen it, videos of men puffing their chests, promising success, domination, and control. They call it being “alpha.” They say it’s what men are meant to be.

To a struggling young guy, it looks like the answer. Confidence, leadership, strength.

But dig a little deeper, and you’ll find it’s not self-improvement—it’s manipulation.

What we’re witnessing isn’t just a rise in toxic masculinity. It’s a full-on recruitment pipeline that starts in the gym and ends at the ballot box. And the beliefs being sold? They’re not just sexist—they’re anti-democratic.

The Real Reason It’s Working

Young men today are struggling.

They’re anxious, lonely, disconnected. Many don’t know who they’re supposed to be anymore.

Society told them “just be a good man,” but never defined what that actually means.

So, they search online. And that’s where the manosphere finds them. A network of influencers, podcasts, and social media accounts waiting to deliver an answer: Dominate. Control. Don’t feel. Don’t trust.

It’s easy to mock—but these messages are powerful because they hit a nerve. They offer identity, belonging, and a sense of purpose. And once someone feels seen, they stop asking questions.

That’s where it turns dangerous.

More Than Misogyny

This isn’t just about gender roles or relationship advice. This ideology is shaping how young men see power—who should have it, who shouldn’t, and what to do about it.

And the answers are terrifying.

Many of these influencers go beyond trash-talking women. They actively promote racism, nationalism, and admiration for fascist regimes. They mock democracy. They glorify authoritarianism. They celebrate violence—not as a last resort, but as a path to order.

It’s no accident. It’s indoctrination.

One in five young men immersed in the manosphere ends up engaging with neo-Nazi content. That’s not a side effect. That’s the plan.

What once lived on the digital fringes is now sitting in our classrooms, our voting booths, and our Capitol.

Why It Should Scare You

The most dangerous belief being sold isn’t that men should be in charge.

It’s that only the strong should be in charge.

That empathy is weakness.

That democracy is chaos.

That the solution is a “strong hand” who will bring back order—even if it means crushing rights along the way.

That’s fascism. And it’s being rebranded as personal growth.

And here’s the twist: these young men don’t even know they’re being radicalized.

To them, it just feels like clarity. Like strength. Like purpose.

By the time they realize what they’ve signed up for, it might be too late.

This isn’t just a cultural problem. It’s a political one. And it’s going to shape the future of our country—unless we do something about it.
